More range, deeper spots, bigger fish. Late in snapper season this is the trip Capt. Gavin recommends if you want to bring home a real box of fillets.

The far grounds: bigger grouper, amberjack when it's open, wahoo and king on the troll. For crews who want the full offshore day.
Trip detailsWhy the Mighty Fine
Many Gulf charter boats are licensed for just six guests. The Mighty Fine is Coast Guard approved for twenty — so the whole family reunion, bachelor party, or church group fishes together on one deck instead of split across three boats.
Between spots you're not huddled on a bench in the sun: there's an air-conditioned cabin, a real bathroom, bunks if the kids need a nap, and plenty of seating on deck. And when you're back at the dock, your catch is hung up for photos, then cleaned, bagged, and handed over ready for the pan.

Red snapper season opened June 1, and in Capt. Gavin's words the fish have been "getting hit pretty hard every single day" since. Late-season fish get smarter, which is exactly why he recommends the longer trips right now — more range means fresher spots and heavier boxes.
